Sorry to hear about the passing of your dad.
Soybean yields in this area tend to be quite good on dry years as long as you get some rain in August. The conclusion around here is that disease hurts us in a normal year more than we realize.
I assume you got some rain in August. I would not expect those yields if August received no rain.
