NW Illinois Stephenson county | I do not remember picking corn with our 1946 JD A and 227 JD picker when it was hot out many times, but I do remember picking the corn through the wet spots when the ground froze. I would pick half a load and the stop and grab the muffler with both hands until my warmed up some and then finish picking the rest of the load.
Corn crib Dad only got to use one year before he died. WE did not have near the rat problem in the new crib as the old one. And not nearly as big as this one at Half Centaury of Progress!
