No you’re good, I’m just joking around. You’re right that Missouri isn’t one of the I states for certain, but the far NW 3-4 counties of Missouri are as good as an average I state county, we grow 60-80 bushel beans and 200+ bushel corn yearly, and the USDA county average show it also. But you start going east or south of here and things change. There are still some really good pockets east and south of here, they just don’t see the consistency across their whole counties that NWMO typically does. We benefit from being in the loess bluffs and having easy access to irrigation water, and we average 30”-35” of rainfall yearly (currently sitting at 30” this year)

I have family from the Brookfield/Laclede/Chillicothe area in Linn County. I always dreamed of moving there as a kid a plowing up acres of CRP I could “buy cheap”. I still love that area and we visit almost every year but I’ve heard stories from locals there that many tried my idea and went back with theirs tails dragging after a few quick years. There’s plenty of good bottoms but plenty of “grass farms” that should be that for a reason.
