Kind of a hard thing to measure. It all depends on how your starting soil moisture levels are at planting and do those count into the "amount of rain" factor? 

Here some places have had 8-10" of rain since before planting till harvest and have some great corn. But they started with some in the ground. 

So is that 8" of rain made 230 corn? Not really but that's what fell in season
