Crop insurance keeps local banks strong. Eliminating it would be pretty bad for the rural economy and the government that relies on cheap food to keep people happy. Large farms would get larger because they own enough land to survive poor years. Does crop insurance help farms get bigger? Yes. But it helps all farms have the opportunity to grow. Eliminating crop insurance would eliminate most farmers


Just wondering how many years out of ten do you collect from a loss? Guaranteeing any business not to fail will guarantee failure at some point. The current road will guarantee failure some day. Might take another 30 years and for land to triple from today but it will happen eventually. Human nature has not and will not change.
