I spent a lot of time riding on the platform covering the husking bed and/or shelling unit on a 237. The platform had a lot of room and was a pretty comfortable place to ride. Paired with a 250-bushel gravity box a 237 with a sheller unit could shell more corn in a day than most combines back in the day.
My uncle had a JD 55 combine that I could run circles around with my 237 plus a 50 sheller on the back mounted on a 4020. It took most of a day preparation to mount the picker and unless it was less than 50° out was a hot dirty job. It was a big upgrade when I bought a pull type picker. |
