Hooker Twp,Ne
Take away crop ins and you just took away a level playing field. Those that are pay 20k for land aren’t buying it off crop ins loss payments. Matter of fact they probably aren’t buying it off farm profits. There has to be another source of income. You will always have the BTO that can’t get enough. Crop ins or not. Crop ins started as a weather risk protection. However the way grain prices fluctuate and now that we are competing against other countries the revenue side has become important. Is there an easy answer? No. With Washington involved it usually only gets messed up worse.
