SW WI
My wife and I started on our own in 88. Never had crop insurance. Survived 88, 03, 12, and this year. Those are the 4 worst years, for me, for losing sleep over what kind of crop you’re going to harvest.

Also survived some severe behind kicking in the hog industry, although I am no longer in it but did leave while I had equity left in what I invested.
No government subsidies on livestock insurance then, although the LRP has a little something now to help with risk ( maybe) ?

Adapt and overcome in bad years. Let land go or enterprise of your business that isn’t giving you a return. Look for new opportunities.

Or….just keep on doing the same old and say whoa is me***
