I believe that advancements in breeding corn and soybeans and the lack of advancement in milo and wheat has a lot more to do with what crops are grown than insurance. 25 years ago it was somewhat rare for us to plant double crop soybeans. Now we have had the mentality of every acre gets double cropped, this started long before we could insure double crop.
Not a bad point. But it'll probably get lost in all the hub bub here on this thread.
