So yeah $7 corn has made a lot feel more eager with sitting on a pile of cash but they are feeling that way because they know the future brings very little risk based on crop insurance. Just look at the difference in crop insurance from the 80's into the 90's compared to todays policies and that says a lot vs the difference in attitude and risk tolerance compared to back then. You think the banks would be lending like they have the last many years if it wasn't for revenue policies? It took 30 years for the community reinvestment act to blow up in the governments face, crop insurance subsidized by the government is likely having some very similar impacts to ag. | |
