Nothing to really debate. Dave is substantially correct on some of his points. Is making EVs at scale easy? Doesn't really seem to be. Making quality ones is harder yet. The major carmakers are dropping the ball on charging infrastructure and they are still trying to avoid responsibility for serving their EVs. Tesla recently opened their 50,000th charger. Their network has an uptime of 99.86% in a recent survey. I'm thinking they have a few EEs that know something and are motivated in their pursuit, which shows up in their final product.
When the topic veers off into opinions, then debate is kinda pointless but NIMBYs and extremists are not helpful in any endeavor.
