Wisconsin | Disconnecting chargers from the grid is ridiculous, whether it's solar or even diesel. I'd be surprised if even the diesel generator chargers aren't connected to the grid and have the diesel for backup, even if they have to use it whenever more than a small number of chargers are in use.
Regarding Musk's other pet projects, the shingles are a bad idea and probably never could have worked, too many connections and leak points. Tempered glass is a wonderful, and now CHEAP material, it makes lots of sense to make a single layer flashed solar glass roof surface. The biggest hurdle is aesthetics.
The boring company is a revolutionary idea. EV's at this point are not revolutionary, barely evolutionary, we argue that all the time here, right? A vacuum hyperloop would be revolutionary to interstate automobile, train, and air travel. | |
