The auger is two piece ,there is a carrier bearing bolted in side tube can't remember if it's front half or back. There is no reason you can't take it apart and fix on combine, I always felt.
it was easier to fix on a flat bed wagon or trailer. Anti seize is your friend if you ever half to do this again.
