I was in an unfamiliar town that said 3 way stop with one street being a one way street. I stopped and saw a car coming down the one way street and figured it would stop but it didn't slow down about hitting me. I had to drive back around scratching my head. Found out it was a two way street up to that intersection so the cross streets and two way had to stop while the one way was free to go through.
There’s a 3 way stop down the road from here. If there are any cars coming I will sit at the sign and wait until I know they’re going to stop and if I’m going the way that I don’t have to stop and there’s a car on the crossroads I always assume they’re going to go and I slow down. That intersection is one of the first places my kids go when they get their temps, good teaching moment. I’ve only ever seen about 4 other 3 way stops in my life besides that one.
The intersection in the picture the OP posted should be an easy fix, just grind off the bolts to the bottom sign. That’s kinda ridiculous. |
