east central ND | I have had a dewalt 18v grease gun for many years. It has pumped cases of grease every year. Lately it just hasn’t pumped very well. So this morning I decided I take it apart, or order a new one.
I pull out the grease tube, started cleaning where the tube goes into the head of the gun where the pump plunger should be. Well, I feel like an idiot. There is a screen in there the size of a grease tube that the grease tube seats against. The screen was mostly clogged. I pulled it out a gave it a good clean. Gun pumps like new.
I’m sure I had forgotten about that screen over the years, and contamination got in there when changing dozens and dozens of tubes over the years, maybe some bits of hard grease too? I’m glad that screen is in there. Cheapest fix I’ve done in a while. | |
