Saginaw Bay Area - Michigan | Was not able to separate a set of duals on semi trailer recently, ended up changing the tire with the wheel on the trailer. It's a triple axle and the middle set needed attention, so I could only get so much of a swing with the 8# sledge. Dayton wheels.
What's best tools/procedure to get these apart? When I get time, I plan to loosen the lugs up and drive it around the block a few times, see if they will pop themselves apart.
Do the airbag splitters, such as from Kent Tool work? Like this one:
