Subject: RE: Trimble Auto Steer

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
Since you have auto steer, the remote Engage switch will be connected to a branch on the cable leading to the Nav. When I had such a system, the main cable was often called an "octopus" cable since it had so many branches. One of these branches is used for diagnostics/remote engage.

A momentary switch can be installed at this connector. The switch needs to be momentary and with a Trimble system, steering engagement takes place once you push and RELEASE the switch. Some other systems engage when you push the switch.

This switch can be one of many styles just as long as it is a momentary type. A dimmer light switch from an old car will NOT work since it is not momentary but locks for the High or Low beam lights.

Some prefer a foot switch, others prefer a hand switch. I have a foot switch listed in the Classifieds that could work well for you if you desire a foot style. I made it for a system of mine but decided I preferred a hand style so I have it for sale.
