I say let them cut it. We need the govt out of farming. I am a STO and am pretty new at this gig, but I can already see that saving my money to try to rent another parcel is a losing proposition since the local BTO can get enterprise units on his multiple farms, and I cannot. He can also leverage way more money from the bank towards crop expenses since it is covered by GOVT insurance, and it just fuels his lower inputs. I would like to see these BTO's have to think about taking too much risk for a change. I have not been aggressive to find more ground until I have established a nest egg to weather a bad year. You know, being conservative...
