NW Missouri | Usually when I see trucks do this it's not because of a dangerous sign though. It's because they are crappy drivers and they get impatient and decide they can pull out because the cars have to stop for them. That's not the situation with the OP.
Every day I go to work I use an exit that has a Loves at it. Not only do the big company drivers not care about making a car stop for their convenience, but they also assume everyone is pulling into the Loves (its a very small town). I realize it is a little stupid/dangerous, but I'll be damned if I'm going to let them impede me when I have the right of way, and I'll play their chicken game up to a point. I know how much room I have and what the shoulder is like if I have to take it - and I have. It's not that they don't see me. It's not that they have an all way stop sign. They just don't want to wait. Piss on them.
Obviously, I have to be more careful when I'm going through there in a semi, but that can be a problem too as they all just assume I'm going to turn into Loves and they expect me to slow down as I approach the driveway, so they start to pull out. They have had to come to a full stop while sticking out onto the road before when they discover I'm not slowing down or turning into Loves. | |
