| We have just started. It got awfully wet around our area this past week. The early corn we have done was 21-22% and near APH. I heard a few local soybean numbers that are below average. Very few are truly fit. We got everything in early (by the first week of May). It then got really dry for about 6-7 weeks. It started raining in late June and continued until about mid-August. Then is started back up in mid-September. We had rain during pollination and ear fill, but we did not have good rain during pod fill for the beans. We never had ponding water all season. It seemed like we had just enough to keep the crops going. We don't anticipate the crops we raised last year, and we are in a very good area of the state in regards to yield potential. Personally, I think the posted averages (both Illinois and national) are high. | |
