At least back when we flood irrigated most of the work took place outside the corn field. With pivots, if you service them yourself, you'll find that's quite a bit of hot work as well.
Of course a lot of these guys nowadays just call the dealer who sends in a Mexican to do the hard labor. I'm the Mexican here.
