S Illinois | That’s exactly what it is. That’s why the biggest push is always on the revenue side. You yourself say why put more money into a crop below crop insurance guarantee. If cheap food was the goal you would not focus on revenue. Everything would be max bushel/volume and one definitely would not focus so much of the subsidies on what an amounts to way less than 10% of the food dollar in grains.
Edit: Also why were/are the highest subsidies on things like cotton, tobacco, sugar through supply regulation, peanuts. Doesn’t seem like those are the best targets if we want cheap food with the current makeup of the American diet.
