I'd love ro see all subsidies for all sectors go away. But they won't until the current fiat system collapses so let's just look at the 30B number stated above. That is 5.5 days of Federal deficit spending. Not total spending, just the amount we borrow in addition to revenues. 5.5 days to keep food somewhat affordable. That seems like cheap "insurance " politically speaking.
