southern MN | Our old silo was relined (plastered inside) once. Dad stopped using it about the time I entered grade school, it was becoming porous again and the silage was spoiling around the edges. Sat empty. He said it wasn’t worth relining a second time.
Some years ago bad staves sort of like you show was on the bottom staves in ground, and the wood chucks burrowed in some.
Couple years ago we had heavy rains and a wind storm, silo fell over. If I wanted it down, it fell within 5 degrees of where I would have wanted it to fall. About perfect. I had 4 wagons parked there the week before, but moved them and the spot was empty.
Be sure it hasn’t started leaning, and be sure those broken staves are supported so they don’t settle down with the weight of silage pulling the walls downward. I know that is the point of filling in the bottom with concrete, but be sure those voids are indeed filled.
I don’t know much on engineering really, so I’m just speculating here.
