I was always under the impression cattle feed needs to be course…. Why are you wanting it fine?


Pig feed may have been an exaggeration. We grind as fine as the mill will allow. We think it makes it more available to the cows. Larger pieces can pass through, which can be seen in the manure.

Here are some pics of what our mill did last year. An occasional full kernel, and some larger pieces of pericarp, but the rest is fairly pulverized. I would like to keep this size particle. I don't want to upgrade and end up with what I view as a less digestible product.
