 North Liberty and South Bend, Indiana | Simple fact is ethanol has less btu's per pound. Now I'm only somewhat reasoning and guessing here. When you run a higher percentage of ethanol the computer has to learn and adjust. And it must shove more pounds through the injectors to compensate for the lesser btu's. Switch back quickly to lesser ethanol and you are running the engine rich until the computer compensates again. That would foul out plugs.
