I just started wearing reading glasses in August. Prior to that wore progressive bifocals. Early Aug I had my cataracts removed. While having that done they did laser surgery to correct my distance vision but because of a cornea disease Dr didn't want to correct my closeup vision. What a intake, can't see distance any better, maybe not as good, than I could with glasses, Can't see a darn thing up close unless I have reading glasses on. Depends on how close as to what magnification I need. To see my cell phone or read a paper I need 2.5x but sitting at the desk working on the computer 1.5 x. Out side on a sunny day I need sunglasses. Seems all I do all day long is switch between readers & sunglasses. I think I'm going to uy bifocals with top part clear & bottom readers but not sure if that will work when working on the computer. Wish I never had laser done.
