I didn't detect any boasting. I'm probably not that good at emotional interpretation. 

On my last pass thru this field I ran out of N in the tank and then decided not to correct it. The strip is 6 rows wide and has full rate N on both sides. I had 27#N in my Broadcast N-P-K and about 25#N in the 2x2 and infurrow applications.

Screen shots from the yield monitor tell the story. Over 70BPA increase where the 50Gal of 28% plus 6GAL of ATS were applied.

Seems pretty straight talk to me.

I did comment that I'm not sure if OP was COC or followed a legume of sorts.

We use the U of IL/Iowa St nitrogen recommendations. They seem to base the use on the cost of N, price of corn, locale, and previous crop. 200# of applied N isn't unusual in this part of the country. Not sure how far the OP is from me.

It doesn't look like his applied rate was out of bounds.



I like side dress but this had 0 to do with side dress
