There was never a question of trying to hide the fact they were sprayed with the wrong chem nor was there any thought of blending them off.
A very tough hit if a total loss and insurance doesn't cover it. But that's why we are adults with integrity, a bitter pill but take it and shut up and learn for the next time.
It's been about 24 hours since this came to light now.
It seems there are market alternatives for this crop, export is a no go, but domestic is okay.
The elevator is going to segregate the crop from the bulk of their intake, there will be a discount for the lower market option and likely the added cost of segregating.
But it is not going to be a total loss.
In fact it likely won't be an insurance claim at all, but that is still available if needed.
What is the saying? When handed lemons make lemonade?
Now to repair relationships and educate the people at fault so this doesn't happen again.
