The big difference between the automobile replacing the horse in the 1920’s and the thought of replacing ICE with electric today is the automobile replaced the horse because a free market innovated and brought consumers a far better alternative. Electric cars are being pushed forward prematurely by government incentive. The government needs to stay out of transportation beyond the basic necessities of ensuring safety. After that the market needs to be left alone to innovate. When the free market develops a better alternative to ICE automobiles consumers will naturally make the change themselves.


It was nice of that free market to build all those roads for those new cars LOL


Strange comment. The Roman’s were the great road builders 2000 years ago. It was the main reason for the explosive growth of the empire and the increase in trade.

The USA was on a road building spree long before cars. Private industry also built huge roads in the 17th century. These things called trains ran on them.
