Subject: RE: River Basis

East Central Ia
“Unfortunately, Mississippi river levels are still close to records low (basis reflecting same).  The lowest point since 1954 has been -10.81’…oddly enough set last year on 10.18.22 @ Memphis, Tennessee.  According to the National Weather Service it would appear this record has been broken again…the website shows river levels observed @ -11.19 @ 2am this morn…yikes…while grain is front and center the river is used to move lots of “goods”…

Also, news reports of a potential drinking water crisis, as extremely dry conditions along the Mississippi have dropped freshwater levels to historic lows, threatening water treatment facilities along the river….“

Had this sent to me this morning.
