Modern EVs are not superior to existing ICS technology.

I disagree and most owners of GOOD EVs do too. And by GOOD, I mean Teslas, not the junk being rushed to the market by the big 3 in a failing attempt to compete with Tesla.

Trust me, there would not be the backlash against EVs by so many industries that get fat off of fueling and repairing ICEs if EVs were not superior.

@Bob
How many people would/could afford an EV if there was no government incentives? Simply have them on the market and those that want them will buy them. If gas shot up to $10 a gallon and EVs penciled out in the long run then people would naturally gravitate towards them.

The current market is nothing but a lie. If/When Biden leaves the whitehouse in 2024 all of this EV nonsense of forced adoption will be rolled back. Those automakers that went all in will be in a tough spot. Those that took the cautious approach (Toyota, Honda, etc.) will be in a significantly better business setting. They will have ICE/Hybrid/EV in their lineup. They have not made any commitment to abandon ICE. Simply follow where the market leads.

Ford will need a bailout. They are in way too deep. Tesla is propped up by all Musk’s other ventures. They are also cash flow positive on their vehicles. That’s a very hard competitor to knock off. Ford has over a billion in on designe and is losing money on each EV. I don’t see how they make it out of that hole without a bailout or trying to jack up prices on ICE vehicles to recoup the loss.

Jackin up prices only works if everyone else does as well.

I want support of farmers and giving us a little something. How about the government push more bio/renewable diesel. It is virtually carbon neutral, can be grown at home and supports us farmers, can be used in existing diesel engines without much change or no change and doesn’t have any toxic battery mining/disposal issues. Bio couldn’t power everything, but why put all of our eggs in one energy basket? (Electricity)

No one ever talks about this. Is it because it would be Americans supporting Americans instead of funneling money overseas for batteries/solar panels/wind gennys/etc?
