McCanna, ND | Canola in the states is generally talked about in CWT (both yield and price). Canada is bushels or MT and price can be either or as well.
“Here” guys are shooting for a 2000lb crop or so, know some areas are pushing 3k lbs.
It’s just about as expensive as corn to grow. N and S requirement is crazy, fungicide isn’t cheap, invigor canola seed was $800+ a bag at one retailer this spring which would be $80/ac seed cost roughly when using an air seeder. | |
