Talk to your congressman. Mine was asking last week for a list of things that are essential, as in "can't feed people without them." One guy mentioned hog price reports, I said milk pricing.
I finally got a call back on signing up for LFP: I've got an appointment for October 2nd. Not counting on that date, but she couldn't say that it depends on whether the government shuts down.
