I’m looking for recommendations on good short sleeved, button down, vented work shirts.
Short sleeve and work shirt is an oxymoron isn’t it?
Wrangler and Dickies make good long sleeve shirts.
I guess you have to define “work”. I work in an office as well and my “work shirts” are 100% cotton oxfords from Ralph Lauren and Brooks Brothers. Only buy them on sales during holidays or the prices they ask are stupid. A QUALITY made shirt will cost $45-$65 on sale. These last me hundreds and hundreds of wears (usually 5 years or so). Until Brooks Brothers was sold recently they were the only USA shirt maker that used USA grown cotton and did all assembly in USA factories. First thing the new owners did was shut down and fire all the USA staff. I don’t buy much there anymore.
Mercer and Sons make USA maDE dress and Oxford shirts. J Press has a USA shop as well. But you’re going to pay to have an American make you a quality shirt with USA grown cotton.
My Dad (retired) finds so many older, practically brand new heavyweight shirts at the hospice and good will stores for $5 a pop. Stuff that had to have cost 10-20 times that when new. Check the stores out. Lots of people don’t even think to look there. |
