Southern Missouri
All depends on what part of country you’re in , we irrigate every sq ft we farm , not one single pivot , have tons and tons of very cheaply pumped water , precision leveled fields have a roll of flexible tubing laid out at upper end and sends the water down the raised bed furrows, as many times as we want all season, not much to it really ,only maintenance is power source for pump and the pump itself , a new pump and power source for it , be it electric or diesel, lasts a long long time ,I wouldn’t know how to farm if I couldn’t irrigate , lots rice ,cotton ,corn and beans around us , all furrow irrigated except part of the rice is full flood, lot of acres of rice here now are grown furrow irrigated
