Low test weight corn doesn't make as much ethanol per bushel. When it gets below 52 pounds it really makes a difference. I guess being less dense it doesn't have as much starch. Whenever we have a drought and a lot of low test weight corn gallons per bushel is lower. Our plant started docking more when it's that light because of that.
