Southeast WI | For here I think it's pretty late to get legumes established to survive winter but we will see. John wanted to try it and I had room to do something different so why not? Take alfalfa here in southern WI. It needs at minimum 6 weeks of growth before it goes dormant to be able to survive winter. It's likely the clovers are the same, plus the only place crimson has survived to spring has been near field edges when we get deep snow to protect it from the cold temps. Now that the drone works we will try to be a few weeks earlier next year. At this point I'm looking at it as a big toy. | |
