Its a blessing and a curse all at the same time!  When everything is working it's not a bad job.  When stuff breaks and its 95 outside with 90 percent humidity a corn field is not a fun place.  On an average year irrigation is worth 75-150 bushels of corn per acre.  This year it will probably be worth 200-250.  We are not equipped to replace all our water with irrigation year after year.
