It's all very confusing. I thought Ukraine was unable to export its grain the last couple of years due to the war and the attacks on infrastructure and all that. Yet the farmers are able to grow a crop due to all their hard work. And get seed, fertilizer, fuel, equipment parts and all that stuff brought in to produce the last few crops that are above the 10 year average.
Are the western powers air dropping inputs to get it there, or perhaps the fertilizer and other inputs are coming from Russia therefore that is how the issues effect grain exports but not inputs.
You would think if the crop inputs are flowing in ok, the same infrastructure would exist for removal also. But I suppose it requires a will and a political agenda to do that. Military inputs are flowing in just fine. Must be one-way rail lines. when we think of war I wouldn’t think anything would be possible.I’m thinking when Germany was invading Russia was there much farming going on there I doubt it. |
