Subject: Getting wheat in through stalks

SC NE
I've got about 25 acres of corn stalks I'm trying to drill to irrigated wheat. I've disked it twice and still having trouble getting stalks to break up and buried. I'm thinking about drilling the wheat, then disking again to try and get the seed hung up in stalks to the ground, then run pivot to water seed in. Drill is an JD 8300 single disk, 10" spacing.

Has anyone tried something like this, and how did it work?
