central Ia | My son and went muzzleloader season in Co down by Pagosa Springs, 3 1/2 hr mule ride to the camp at 11,000 ft. It was quite a ride sure happy to be on a sure footed mule
At 68 even though I had been walking 5.5 miles a day the altitude got to me, stayed in camp and hoped 1 would walk by, son went out but the rut wasn't started and rain predicted for Mon - Thurs so we rode out early. It was still a great hunt but from now on of I want to shoot an elk will do it with a camera at Rocky Mountain National Park and eat an elk burger in town. Glad you had a great time and it's getting harder to draw an elk tag, last yr we had 3 pts but it took 5 to get into a 3 pt area
