Southern Missouri | Sounds like a great time ,my son is a hunter and him and his wife did a very similar hunt a couple years ago to the bob marshall wilderness area up by glacier national , the physical demanding part you described is very real , son and dil worked out a lot getting ready for it and were in great shape to begin with,the declared wilderness areas are something special , I think there’s even ceiling restrictions on aircraft flying over have to maintain a pretty high altitude, true sportsmen only for those kind of trips , glad you got to do it and maybe you’ll get to again soon
