Southeast WI | You typically get more reliable Sept moisture don't you? That way slower early growth wouldn't be an issue.
Here beans are generally about done by Labor Day and Aug rains can really be hit or miss so later beans can get hammered on yield. We have been pretty dry for the past 4 seasons. 20-21 that meant 40 bpa beans on lighter soils. Last year with mid and late August rains and we had best farm avg ever close to 60 bpa. This year beans look half the size of last year. It's not good. APH is around 50 on my farm with the varied soils we farm. | |
