Wisconsin | Everything I've seen is batteries are coming down in cost.
Fast charging is an issue, the demand charge will always make it expensive. An overnight charge will not be a problem for the majority of homeowners and upper end rentals, 20-30 amp 220v circuit will be plenty. Those with long commutes, pickups, or apartments will have more trouble. If you can't run a 220V circuit to your garage or driveway, you have bigger problems than EV's.
The grid will be more stable and more affordable with EV's if a smart grid is done correctly. If it's set up to favor EV's, solar, wind, and ESG values, then we might all be cold and hungry. | |
