I realize I'm just one guy, but I always ask what something will cost. If the price is reasonable, I pay. If it seems a bit steep, I'll go elsewhere if possible. My call. You seem a bit butt hurt that the guy didn't pay what you asked and went somewhere that suited his needs better.
I didn't see it that way at all. He never asked for anything, he said they could go to the RV park. I see it as not thinking he should be asked to provide something for free that he never offered. If the motel is to be expected to provide electricity for EVs why not gas for ICE vehicles.
