Neighbor retired from finishing Holsteins. Has a slat barn that would 300-400 head of calves. Would there be any money in renting it and contract feeding for someone else. Usual rate around here is .35 a day all feed and bedding provided. Probably some more money in there since they would be on slats. Haven’t asked what barn would cost to rent. Thought I’d bounce the idea here. Probably a bad one. simple math-40cents day is $160 a day income-$80 to you,$80 to owner-bill customer $160 for putting cattle there-looks like a good deal,I work for a lot less feeding my own |
