It’s germination. See it all the time where the end rows are worked or places where we ripped due to grain cart traffic and then work down in the spring. The worked ground warms up quicker than the notill and equals earlier germination. See no difference at harvest. Covers are the same as far as keeping ground cooler in the spring. Covers have their place, but I guarantee you had a different germination date on the beans.
