Hah, hah. Several years ago that I made the first trip through Parachute. Pulled in to use the rest stop and was temporarily confused by the sight of a couple of stoners sprawled out on the grass and zoned out contemplating something. Then I looked across the street to see the dispensary and it all made sense to this unworldly country boy. Rates right up there with my first trip through Wells, NV. Huge billboards advertising what Wells is famous for. Took a while for that one to register too.
