Subject: RE: Corn stoves.

Monett Missouri
I had two different stoves over 15 years. Both had their drawbacks but did what they were designed to do. 10 gallons a day seemed the best fuel rate. Too much fuel and the clinker would build up too fast and put fire out. Dry clean corn burns the best. And drought corn burns even better ! Less clinker from small kernels than big fat ones. I finally bought a second burn chamber for my last stove. Shut fuel off and let fire burn down to just red hot coals. Grab fire pot with pliers and remove. Dump red coals in empty pot put back in stove. Turn corn back on. Fire starts back easily. Just don’t dump it on the hardwood floor. I got tired of the extra work and we only run it during the coldest weather so went and bought a pellet stove with automatic ignition. Lots easier and we don’t grow corn every year so I was buying fuel one way or another.
